Description
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. It retains the anti-inflammatory properties of the parent hormone without its pigmentary effects, and is studied in models of colitis, dermal inflammation and NF-κB inhibition.
Research notes
- Enters cells via PepT1 transporter in intestinal epithelium models
- Inhibits NF-κB activation and pro-inflammatory cytokine release
- Does not activate melanocortin receptors for pigmentation
Research use only. This compound is supplied for in-vitro and laboratory research. It is not approved by the TGA or any regulatory body for human or veterinary use. Not for human consumption. Handle with appropriate laboratory precautions.
