Description
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone with a trans-3-hexenoic acid modification at the N-terminus that protects against DPP-4 cleavage. It is one of the most rigorously studied GHRH analogues, with research centred on visceral adipose tissue and pulsatile GH secretion.
Research notes
- Preserves physiological pulsatility of GH release in models
- Longer half-life than native GHRH due to N-terminal modification
- Reference compound for GHRH receptor binding assays
Research use only. This compound is supplied for in-vitro and laboratory research. It is not approved by the TGA or any regulatory body for human or veterinary use. Not for human consumption. Handle with appropriate laboratory precautions.
